Recently, the Hon’ble PM of India announced the latest reformative Initiative called Mission Karmayogi, the National Programme for Civil Services Capacity Building. The programme shall be headed by the Hon’ble Prime Minister himself. The objective of the mission is to establish a reformed civil service with the right attitude, skills and knowledge, aligned to the vision of New Bharat. The programme shall work to enhance the soft skills part of candidates post recruitment, such as Leadership, Cognitive Abilities, Proactivity, Creativity, Innovation and Progressive mindset. Presently, the system is becoming obsolete, being burdened by rules and hierarchy, and less importance is given to situational roles, which leads to administrative mismanagement. The scheme shall cover 46 lakh civil servants, and total budget allocated would be INR 560 crore for the duration of 5 years. The mission shall be technology driven, and best global practises shall be integrated while keeping in mind the dynamicity of India.
