1,00,000 crore worth goods are to be procured by GEM in FY22

Rs 1 lakh crore worth goods and services are expected to be procured from the public procurement portal GeM in 2021-22 because of a surge in buying activities by ministries like defence and PSUs, a senior government official said. The Government e-Market (GeM) portal was initiated in August 2016 for the online procurement of goods and services by all the ministries and departments of the central government.
