Supreme Court excludes age of marriage of boys at 18
The Supreme Court dismissed a PIL to lower the age of marriage for men from 21 years to 18, citing the fact that they could join the military at that age and even vote in the elections. The Indian court Ranjan Gogoi, chaired by the Indian Chief Justice, not only rejected the argument of his lawyer, Ashok Pande but also fined him 25,000 rupees for wasting time. On the bench, Judge Sanjay Kishan Kaul was the second judge. The court said it would only hear PILs filed by the affected parties or the poor.
