Center to launch criminal case against polluters who fail to repair their acts

In order to increase the pressure on polluters as Delhi faces its winter days, the Center announced that criminal proceedings would be instituted against offenders who would not act despite warnings and the perpetrators would also be named and shameful official sites. Noting poor compliance with its air pollution control guidelines in the Delhi-NCR region, the Center said the names of offenders – private and government entities – would also be disclosed. No matter the size of an agency or the influence of its manager, the Central Pollution Control Commission will not hesitate to initiate criminal proceedings against them said by Environment minister Harsh Vardhan.
