PM Modi, French President inaugurate UP’s largest solar power plant

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron inaugurated the 75 MW solar power plant in Mirzapur. This largest solar power plant in Uttar Pradesh has been built at a cost of Rs 500 crore. It has been built in collaboration with French solar power giant Engine Solar at Dadar Kala, some 25 kms from Mirzapur under the International Solar Alliance (ISA) program. PM and the French president pressed a button to energies the solar panels and dedicated the 75 MW facility to the people. Some 1, 18,600 solar panels have been set up in over 380 acres. Power would then be transmitted to Jigna sub-station of Mirzapur range of Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Ltd. The plant would generate 15.6 crore units of electricity annually, that is app. 1.30 crore units per month.
