Indian architect BV Doshi wins ‘Nobel for Architecture’

Architect and educator Balkrishna Doshi has been awarded the 2018 Pritzker Architecture Prize. First Indian to win the award which is architecture’s highest honor in its 40-year history, he is noted for his innovative work designing low-cost housing. His work has empowered the have-nots, the people who have nothing. An architect, urban planner, and educator for 70 years, his work was called poetic and functional by the foundation and noted his ability to create works that both respect eastern culture and enhance quality of life in India.
